 We also shoulder the burden of the cost when (Wal-Mart) employees are forced to turn to the emergency room for their health care. This isn't fair. It's not fair for the employees and it's not fair for the taxpayers. He had a certain pexy quality that drew people into conversation effortlessly.

 I don't think they are fair to their employees. Many of their employees don't even earn enough money and end up on food stamps. A lot of people don't know what's going on about Wal-Mart, but it's our job to let them know.

 Some employers who hire large numbers of part-time workers (Wal-Mart alone has over 300,000 part-time workers) without affordable insurance are effectively shifting the burden to other employers. Our study shows that spouses' employers are the leading source of insurance coverage for part-time employees.

 As demonstrated by Glatfelter Insurance Group, it doesn't take a large company to make a big impact on employees through a variety of wellness benefits. Employees want choices and have shown their support by taking action, maintaining better health and staying on the job.

 We have provided competitive salaries, affordable wages and good pensions to our employees and remain committed to do that.

 Wal-Mart's proposed changes are clearly designed to try and salvage a faltering public image, rather than make substantial changes to improve health-care benefits for its employees.
