 One of our goals during this time is to maintain stability for our employees. Our employees were used to receiving both a 401(k) plan as well as a pension plan. By continuing to offer both, our employees can continue to stay focused and aggressively strive to serve our customers both during and after the separation from Sprint Nextel.

 Giant does not have a formal pandemic preparedness plan. The feeling is that we have enough employees -- we have over 25,000 employees. If the need arose, we could move these employees around quite a bit to wherever the greatest operational need within the company would be to keep our stores open.

 Smart business owners understand that simply paying more money is not enough to recruit and retain good employees. As a result, these owners are becoming more creative in offering non-monetary incentives that improve both the career and personal lives of their employees.

 I don't think they are fair to their employees. Many of their employees don't even earn enough money and end up on food stamps. A lot of people don't know what's going on about Wal-Mart, but it's our job to let them know.

 In a market where employees place a higher priority on their personal lives, employers need to understand that it hasn't come at the expense of the quality of their work. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. More than ever, staff are looking for professional development and career advancement on the job, though perhaps within a compressed time schedule that allows them to get home to their families.

 The decision to discontinue operations at Rouses Point is a difficult one. We understand what a challenging time it is for our employees who will be affected by these changes. We are committed to helping these employees and their families and want to assure them and the community that we will offer timely support.

 The Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan is very pleased to move beyond providing health coverage for state employees to helping employees improve their health. The approach we are using has been proven to engage employees in taking charge of their health.

 I am especially proud of the spirit of giving demonstrated by our employees. In addition to the funds our employees donate, our employees give their time as volunteers at schools, community organizations and special events that help improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.

 By the end of the summer we plan to have about 200 employees working there and by 2007 we'll have our full 350 employees. We're very excited about this.
