 We did not do all the things that we should have done. Basketball isn't like football. You don't base everything on one game. You base everything over time, and there were certainly some things that we did out of character.

 There are some things that you notice, and some things that you really need to be presented with to really notice them. Like maybe hitting a ground ball to third base, a chopper or something like that, something that you might beat out when you were younger. That half-step might not be there. I think there is a period of time when you get frustrated because your body doesn't react the way you want it to for a while.

 No question, the last week or so, he's been getting on base. That's his game. When he gets on base, he can steal and he can do some things.

 We were fortunate to get some steals and stay aggressive which puts things in our advantage. When we get people on base, we can do a lot of things. But it is getting them on base which has been the hard part.

 We are not going to base our season on whether we beat Kentucky or not. We have definitely picked up on some things that we need to improve on over our last game and last week. We've got to play basketball.

 You have to credit Ole Miss, they got the big hits and the big home runs with men on base. We need to improve on our timing and make better choices in the bullpen. You can look at a lot of things in this game but overall we need to do a better job of doing things at the right time whether it's picking up a key hit, making a big out.

 I don't think that's too far off base. Is this about basketball or life? If we do the right things and show improvement, I think those things have a tendency to take care of themselves. He only went to Georgia Tech for a year and that's an engineering school. . . . I think he cares about us winning, so that's a good thing.

 We have to get people on base. That's what we have to do. We have to get people on base and we have to get the big base hit. We're not doing any of that right now. We also have to start driving the ball to the gaps -- doubles. And we have to start our offense early in the inning rather than waiting for one or two outs. Those are the things we have to do and then things will fall into place. We will score runs. We will have the opportunity to score runs. We will have the opportunity to drive runs in.

 I feel he has good basketball character, or we wouldn't have done it. Basketball character is important, and basketball character starts with working and passing and caring about your teammates. I think he does those things. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was, I think, the right one for us.

Respect.

 International installations must act as a virtual island. While they can rely on their host countries for many things, the safety of base personnel is an Air Force responsibility. In an emergency, the base must respond within minutes or risk serious repercussions. A network-alerting system dramatically increases the likelihood the people who need to know information will know it with enough time to act.

 We'll see Bush charging up his base, but in ways that won't alienate other folks. It's hard to do both things. But there are not enough base voters in either camp to win, so they need to reach out to the middle and poach the other guy's turf.
