 You have to get possession. You can't play defense for as long as we did, especially against a really good team like Hofstra.

 I just hope we play team basketball, team defense. One defensive player can?t handle it all. Rutgers is definitely known for defense. Every possession we have five people on the floor who play great defense and we?re looking to go into this game the same way, with the same mentality.

 Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

Did you see the faces of those fans? Did you see the way the Falcons' defense was playing? How can a QB make the defense so much better?] Because it's easy to play defense like this, ... It's harder when the other team has 10 minutes more of possession time than you do.

We built this team around defense and pitching. I think our defense was one of the biggest reasons we won the World Series, no doubt about it. I knew we were going to play good defense all year long.

 What we have to do is take care of the ball and value each possession. It's probably going to be a defensive game. They play good defense and so do we. At this time of the year, the team that makes the fewest mistakes usually wins.

 The (lack of size) is something we're going to have to deal with for the season. Did we play well? In spurts, we played a little bit of defense and were able to put together a few runs. But then we started taking bad shots, and with this team we are only going to get one shot a possession, so it has to be a good one.

 Obviously, we want Tom to be here a long time. The job he has done has been recognized by the people at Hofstra and people away from Hofstra. I have to anticipate someone will come calling.

 We can talk all we want, but if the team is shooting 65% and we're turning the ball over and we get in early foul trouble you can't make it a high-possession game. The second half, we didn't make it a high-possession game. We don't have the interior defense right now if we do get beat. We can't play like them.

 Because it's easy to play defense like this. It's harder when the other team has 10 minutes more of possession time than you do.

 What got us here was our team play, especially our defense. But then we'd turn the ball over and lose the possession and the opportunity to score.

 No doubt. We know what it takes to beat a team like that. You've got to play them tough, battle them on the glass and possession by possession. It was truly a team effort.

 You don't want to let anybody go off. I just think it's going to be key for us not to just play good possession defense, but to not give a lot of second and third shots.

 Saturday we just didn't play good team defense. It wasn't one person. One player can't stop a guard that's going to keep penetrating. You're going to get in foul trouble. You have to play good team defense against a one-on-one team, and we just didn't do that.
