I have to be happy with that. It's the best Carmel has ever done at sectionals, and we finished ahead of powerhouses like North Rockland, Suffern and New Rochelle. Mahopac is a very good team. But our guys did a very nice job.

The hype and intensity of a White Plains or New Rochelle game wasn't there. But Suffern was in our path to gold, and that was motivation enough.

It definitely felt good to get a win. After the loss to Mahopac (see below), everybody did a great job overall. I saw a lot of improvement from Mahopac to the Nyack match.

We have taken a couple of tough losses. We started the season 3-0, but we have been grounded a little bit. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. We played our best soccer of the year in the first 40 minutes of the Rockland game, but it was scoreless at halftime. We had a couple of breakdowns at the start of the second half and Rockland is a good team and they took advantage to them.

The players were disappointed that students from both schools acted the way they did. It's unfortunate the result of the game was lost because of what happened. Nothing happened on the floor between Carmel and Mahopac.

It was good fun. At the beginning of the race, I was saving a little more fuel than both of them, hoping that maybe towards the end and on the third stop there was going to be a yellow on that three-, four-lap difference, then it would have been golden, two laps ahead of everybody. It would have been nice. It was a good race, and I'm very happy for the team. 1-2 again. For the championship, I don't know exactly how the points are, but obviously I must be a little better, a little more solid in second place. It's a good weekend thanks to my PacifiCare team

We weren't going to let Rochelle beat us from the outside. We wanted to make her drive, where we had defensive help. I'm not sure Rochelle even knows how good she can be. Even when we played solid D, she was getting good looks. The ball was just not going down for her.

It was a really nice performance both days. We would have finished ahead of Grand Junction, but we didn't have a diving team.

This means a lot to me. My dad wrestled for Mahopac and finished third and then he coached, so to keep it in the family and win the section is great.

But our guys kept battling. They never quit. I give them credit. Suffern in a very good defensive team, and the Daniels brothers figured in every goal. They have a lot of talent and two of the better forwards in the league. Whenever we made a mistake, they took advantage. And they didn't make many mistakes.

Carmel obviously is the better team, but we gave them way too much respect. If we were to win, it had to be 1-0 or 2-1. When (Carmel) got its second goal, that's when our level went down.

I'm very pleased with this result. Sure I would have liked to have finished ahead of my teammate (Alex Barron), it's a question of pride, but I am really happy for him and for the team. We had a good weekend. Qualifying wasn't that great, but we got it back during the race. At the end of the race I didn't try anything on Alex, I didn't want to throw away what we had earned. Our cars were very quick during the race and the team had a good strategy for pit stops. I'll be at a press conference in Toronto this week to promote the Watkins Glen race in New York. After that I'll head home to Las Vegas.

Our scores improved from a couple weeks ago when we played at Rochelle. It's nice to see the guys coming around and the scores getting to where they need to be going into conference play.

I think that North Texas is a very nice basketball team. They can shoot it, their big guys are like warriors inside and they are a cohesive team. ... Unless they fall apart, I think they have a chance to win their conference.
