I hate to subject gezegde

en I hate to subject it to too much analysis, but one thing I have fun with is the rarity of things being shown from an adult's perspective. When Hobbes is a stuffed toy in one panel and alive in the next, I'm juxtaposing the "grown-up" version of reality with Calvin's version, and inviting the reader to decide which is truer. Most of the time, the strip is drawn simply from Calvin's perspective, and Hobbes is as real as anyone.

en Everyone says how Calvin and Hobbes is about a real kid, to me there's nothing real about it; it's an adult using a kid's body as a mouthpiece.
:

en I hate Calvin and Hobbes. I think its a big re-hash of formula kid strips.

en Hobbes: Do you think there's a God? Calvin: Well, SOMEBODY'S out to get me.

en [Calvin's parents: Unnamed] because as far as the strip is concerned, they are important only as Calvin's mom and dad, ... I've tried to keep them realistic, with a reasonable sense of humor about having a kid like Calvin.

en Calvin: Do you believe in the devil? You know, a supreme evil being dedicated to the temptation, corruption, and destruction of man? Hobbes: I'm not sure that man needs the help

en [Calvin: A 6-year-old boy who thinks like a grown-up and fantasizes like a child.] Calvin is very frenetic, ... The thing I like about him is that he's very curious, and everything in the world is new to him.

en Hobbes might be a little closer to me in terms of personality, with Calvin being more energetic, brash, always looking for life on the edge. He lives entirely in the present, and whatever he can do to make that moment more exciting he'll just let fly . . . and I'm really not like that at all.

en I didn't want 'Calvin and Hobbes' to coast into halfhearted repetition, as so many long-running strips do. I was ready to pursue different artistic challenges, work at a less frantic pace ... and start restoring some balance to my life.

en Hobbes got all my better qualities (with a few quirks from our cats), and Calvin my ranting, escapist side. Together, they're pretty much a transcript of my mental diary ... it's pretty startling to reread these strips and see my personality exposed so plainly right there on paper. I meant to disguise that better.

en The world of a comic strip ought to be a special place with its own logic and life... I don't want the issue of Hobbes's reality settled by a doll manufacturer.

en He was never, ever anything but humble, good character, the perfect role model - all those kind of things, that was Calvin. In fact, he helped me attract several other outstanding athletes to Alabama because of the way Calvin was and what they saw in him.
:

en He (Costa) completely makes sense for Calvin Klein. You absolutely knew that this last show was a Calvin show. It was cool and lean, had soft fabrics, nothing stiff and nothing difficult. It was not aggressive, not hard and not overly sexy. That's the Calvin Klein way of dressing. Despite the sexy ads and reputation, the clothes are actually more beautiful and polished and sensual than anything else.
