 I was thinking that I was gonna have, like, Jason Kidd or Chris Thomas star in the movie to play me.

 [Nets brass insist its future will contain Kidd.] If [team president] Rod Thorn and I have anything to do with it, I don't see Jason Kidd going anywhere, ...  He came into a perfect position. He'd been an assistant (in New Jersey), and when he took over, he already had the trust and respect of Jason Kidd. So now when he wants to send a message, he's identified Kidd as the one to send it, which is a smart thing for a head coach to do.

 And that's what I'm telling Jason right now, ... The way we play defense, the way we help, he should be great...And it's gonna take time, because he's never done it. And I'm gonna stay on him, I'm gonna stay on him a lot.

 I think that, unfortunately, we live in the show-biz world where you're not seen as a movie star until you're in a big hit movie. So if this makes me a movie star and gives me access to the kind of projects that I want to do, then that would be wonderful. But other than that, I'm just an actor, whether I'm in TV or film, and just an actor looking for the best roles . . .

 I think it's just more a nervous energy there that he's gonna regress and something's gonna flare up again. That's tough to play with knowing in the back of your mind, kinda thinking you're almost fragile compared to what you're usually able to play at.

 They were pretty much the same play. On the first one, they left me to focus on Vince, and he did a good job of finding me. Vince, Richard, Jason (Kidd), they really command a lot of attention, and at that point of the game you're going to think that they're going to get the shot.

 It's definitely a disappointment. He gave up more money, he gave up other opportunities because of his desire to play with the Nets, with Jason Kidd and for Lawrence Frank. New Jersey wasn't comfortable, and neither were we, so now we'll move forward.

 Obviously, they've got Jason Kidd, who opens up the court so much, Vince Carter on one wing and Richard Jefferson on the other wing. That's a tough task. We've got to play great team defense, learn from each other and see what happens after that.
