 For the first time since I've been here, I was seeing a few double teams, ... That's going to help the offense, having two guys covering me instead of the defense saying, 'Don't worry about the tight end.' They've got to start game-planning more than what they had to do in the past as far as the tight-end position.

 These guys know that they have to continue to be football players and students. They can't worry about it. It's one of those things that is beyond our control.

 Guys are just thoroughly enjoying playing for him right now. I think that's a testament that this is his team and we're here to do whatever we need to do to in. His focus isn't to make things hard on us, his focus is to make sure we're prepared to win football games.

 They had some guys do some things tonight they hadn't done. That's probably because we played so bad defensively.

 We weren't coming down here to eat a box lunch, get on the bus and go home. We came to Norman to win the football game ... and our guys played their heart out.

 It was one of those days. With the wind and things like that, the conditions weren't very good. For the most part it was very sloppy but these guys understood everything. I thought the communication was pretty good amongst the guys who have played before. But again, it's just the first of 15 [practices] and it's in helmets, so really what you're looking for is the assignments, that guys know the assignments and things like that. It's a little bit different without having the pads.

 Some of these guys have been playing sports straight through since July (since many also played football) and they've never lost their focus or intensity.

 They came off the ball a lot quicker. They came at us a lot harder. Even when we had openings on offense, the running backs weren't hitting them quick enough and they closed them down. We might have to revamp some things, get back to playing fundamental football. That's where Glidden-Ralston beat us. They played better fundamental football.
