 We had two runners out there that hadn't played football at the (NCAA) Division I level in a long time, ... One never and the other one hadn't played in two years. So that's probably going to take some live action to get into the flow of things.

 I had a fantastic time. We hadn't played as Pink Floyd in 10 years and hadn't played with Roger in 25.

 I hadn't really played in a year-and-a-half, so it was good to get out there and get back in the flow. I'm still a little bit rusty and I'm not thinking the right things in the right situations. But that's what happens when you have a long time off.

The main thing was obviously the cause, but I was also pleased to get some of that personal, trivial antipathy that's been part of our lives for so long and pack that away. For several days, Roger and I went out together. I'm very pleased that we're now at a point where we can talk.

 Everything wasn't flowing right because we hadn't played in a long time. It was weird. It felt like I hadn't played in so long. It was different.

 It was a gradual move towards getting back in shape again. He [Peart] hadn't played drums for a long time and he needed the time to just build up his chops again. And for us, Geddy and I hadn't worked writing together in a while and because we'd been doing such diverse things we needed some time to get used to each other again.

 A lot of the guys hadn't played before and weren't sure how things would go, and were maybe a little tight, but now they can focus on the football and not worry about anything else.

 We had to find a way to finish strong. We hadn't done that in two years. We hadn't won a game at the end of the year yet. And we wanted to do that for our football team and especially for our seniors.

 We kind of started that game like we hadn't played in a while. Once we got into the flow of things, we understood what their defense was doing and we understood where the open shots were.

 Our first couple of years we were really, really strong. We could have competed on the NCAA Division III level and even the Division II level. The past few years we've gone down a bit, even though by club standards we still had really good teams. But when we tried to sep up against some of the NCAA II, III and NAIA teams, we did not fare as well.

 I'm not worried about our future. We hadn't played in two weeks, and we came out tonight and looked like we hadn't played in two weeks. We'll be all right.
