 I think it's inexcusable we don't do a better job of training. The average turnover rate is something like 136 percent, so they actually lose more drivers than they're able to hire.

 Elderly drivers, despite the popular driver notion, are not the big risk. Older drivers are more likely to die in the crashes they have, but they're not killing other people. Teen drivers are.

 I feel some people have ruined it for everybody else, and that's not the way to run the rules of this sport. It's not 20 percent of the drivers. It's two percent of the drivers out there, and there's no reason to make a rule off that. Those drivers should be quarantined.

 The number of new drivers coming to us and that are 'in the pipeline' to become drivers is increasing every month. Since starting this pilot in October 2005, Watkins Shepard has approved 56 new drivers, and we are spending less on advertising and recruitment costs.

 The shortage of IT workers has changed the nature of the position of HR (human resources) director, for one, because employee retention has become almost an overwhelming issue, ... Companies might have seen a 10-to-12 percent turnover rate a few years ago, if lucky -- the turnover rate is now more like 20 percent plus. People are stealing employees from one another left and right, and employee loyalty, frankly, runs only as deep as what the company can offer.

 While it's admirable to sponsor minority NASCAR drivers, it would be even more admirable if the company paid and rewarded its own sanitation truck drivers decently.

 Our official position is we have no preference whether the drivers for First Student are part of a formal organization or they're not. We look at this as an issue between the company First Student and the drivers who are trying to organize, and we would encourage them to follow the process that is set out.

 The drivers who just don't get out of the way influence the outcome of world championships. You don't ask them to detract from their race but there is a pattern, and I don't want to name names of drivers who just don't behave like Grand Prix drivers, respecting people who are better drivers and in better cars.

 The union insists that drivers who are fatigued have a right to book off. And the company has a policy: If a driver says he or she is fatigued, then Greyhound doesn't use them. You can't have it any other way.

 2005 was a significant year for the company. We exited the year with the highest gross margin and the first year of profitability since 2000. We also shipped record units during the fourth quarter at an annualized run rate of approximately 30 billion units. We look to continue to fuel our growth with new product designs and wins in the computing, consumer and wireless end-markets and are excited about our prospects for the upcoming year.

 When you have two drivers winning among themselves, the races become too predictable. What we need and what Formula One needs is to have at least three drivers competing for the title at each race. This opens out the field and there is much more interest from the spectators and fans,
