 Investors are concerned that shares have gotten too expensive and there's no reason to buy into the market at these prices.

 The problem is that labor has basically priced itself out of the market. We had a very sharp run up in compensation costs in the late 1990s. People got too expensive and they're still too expensive.

 It's a new concept for Asia. Either the salons are aimed at a very high-end, very expensive, or you go down to the mass market, mom and pop shops, which tend to be more undisciplined, no quality control, no hygiene level at all. So it's something very new. We're actually answering a niche in the market.

 Some growers will have the plantations maintained at a basic level, and if there is a niche, or a lull in the market, they will cut that fruit and put it into the market for high prices. This is as big a lull in the market as you can possibly get.

 In this volatile market, the best procedure is to buy on dips. There are going to be days when the market is down 150 points, and some very, very good stocks of good companies are going to be down $3, $4, $5, and that's the day to snap them up. Stocks are expensive, but they're expensive for a good reason. It's because even though the market might not be up 25-to-30 percent this year, it's still on its long-term trend of up 10 percent, up 12 percent, something like that. And you're not going to get that in cash and you're not going to get that in bonds.

 The age of mass marketing is dead - it's inefficient and too expensive. The next step is finding applications of existing products to very niche groups. About a year ago, much fuss was made about the gay market - now it's singles.

 Wholesale gasoline prices have dropped across the country and West Coast gasoline inventory is strong. That actually led to a slight decline in pump prices in the last few days, although overall averages are still higher than at this time last week. However, oil industry analysts expect wholesale prices to start heading up again once the more expensive summer-grade fuel starts going on the market at the end of February.

 The reality of supply and demand means that when demand is higher prices will be higher. If you try to buck the system it just doesn't work. Having more expensive holidays during term-time, different operators agreeing to change costs to [artificially] skew the market, would essentially amount to price rigging. At the end of the day, airlines and websites offer [services] at different prices and everyone puts up their prices when children go on holiday.

 If there is a low supply, prices will obviously increase. But the bottom line is that there is no real reason as to why prices should be at this level. There has not been a shortage of oil since 1979. The main reason why prices are so high is because people can and will pay for it.

 Some companies will certainly take advantage of any reason to raise prices. However, when your business is dependent on fleet of vehicles, gas prices may become a legitimate reason for raising prices.

 We know it's a niche market today, mainly because the volumes are not there and the phones are so expensive. But even when there's more volumes, yes we think 3D will be okay. The 90% or whatever of people who don't know they're capable of downloading a cell phone game won't necessarily be making Time Crisis their first game.

 With the increased numbers of private and corporate jets that come through here, we feel that with competitive prices and good service we will find our niche in the (fixed-base operations) market.

 Basically we had some good overseas trading. I think that is basically propelling us to a higher opening here. I just think the market is living with the fact that oil prices are trading around these levels, and it's getting a lift from the 10-year yield being below 4.60 percent.
