I think it's nice for the volunteers of this area, that recognition means something to all the people who give, and there's a ton of them. It's just a little something that says they recognize this little, out-of-the-way community in the state of Pennsylvania. We're keeping the agriculture alive.

I take pride in what we did for the community with our requests. We always wish we could do more, but any recognition is progress. My main hope is that whatever we accomplished with the park won't distract from the principles behind it. A park is just a place. We need to keep Dr. King's dream alive by continuing to recognize the diversity of the people who live in this area.

I think it's a nice gesture on the part of Bishop Lori to recognize volunteers in the church. They've always had programs to recognize high profile people and this is a nice way to recognize the people in the trenches.

We were discussing Coretta Scott King [who died in January] and how we as individuals should be picking up the torch, and also how we should recognize people's contributions while they're here. These are people who are continuing to serve the community and keeping the dream alive.

If Pennsylvania decided to give the tourist industry in the state a shot in the arm to build nice destination resorts, I would love to be in Pennsylvania. But right now, it's not where someone can justify a large investment. It's pretty tough to do with a 54 percent tax rate.
