 I get a call that says 'Michelle Kwan has withdrawn from the Olympics' and at that point I was thinking 'Wait, what Olympics am I at? Lillehammer? Sarajevo?' and the next thing I know, 45 minutes later I'm interviewing Michelle.

 For me, having a medal from the Olympics is great. If I never play again for the Czech team, I have a medal from the World Championship (gold last year) and now the Olympics.

 Michelle could win the Olympics, she is definitely qualified to win a medal. We really do believe that. She's skating very well. Not every element was performed perfectly, but they were at a high level. We weren't really keeping score. We were looking for her competitive fitness. She did a triple lutz-double toe combination several times.

 The medal is the icing on the cake. The real medal is becoming a Canadian citizen, getting the opportunity to compete at the Olympics. That's the gold medal.

 All Michelle wanted was to see for herself if she could do it or not. And when it became evident that was too much to ask, Michelle was the first to say she had too much respect for the Olympics and for this country to go out there when she knew she couldn't. Here, it's a different sport and a little different situation. But I think you could plug in the same kind of comments with Jeff -- if it comes to that.

 To help teammates have a chance at a medal, that's what the Olympics are all about.

 I made a $50 bet -- a lot of money then -- with my coach that I'd win a medal. I woke up that morning and thought, 'don't get to the bottom and wish you had a second chance, because in the Olympics, you don't get a second chance.' I was so in the moment; I wanted to feel it, I wanted to be in it -- I've used that metaphor for the rest of my life. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness.

 I felt like I'd had lots of chances during the Olympics, but I guess I was lucky that (the goal) came in the bronze-medal game.

 We just wanted to win a medal for Kenya, and hopefully a gold one. The plans went very well, although I did not expect to win today. All I need now is to win a medal also in the Olympics.
