 For me, having a medal from the Olympics is great. If I never play again for the Czech team, I have a medal from the World Championship (gold last year) and now the Olympics.

 The medal is the icing on the cake. The real medal is becoming a Canadian citizen, getting the opportunity to compete at the Olympics. That's the gold medal.

 The greatest memory for me of the 1984 Olympics was not the individual honors, but standing on the podium with my teammates to receive our team gold medal.

 The best memory is probably the bronze medal game and winning the bronze medal.  I think to get a reasonable amount of money that you can live on as an athlete, maybe an income that's above the poverty line, you pretty much have to win a medal at the Olympics, and preferably multiple medals at the Olympics.
