 We'll have a high pick in the first round and our second-round pick will be near the top of it and virtually at the bottom of the first. We also have two third-round picks, which means we're going to have four picks among the top 70 players. I think those four picks can have a significant impact.

If he's successful with it, why change it? Over the long haul, quarterback is so hard to figure out anyway, seeing how many first-round picks don't make it, and how many lower-round picks do.

 The Dolphins had talked about taking me in the third round. But they called me about five picks before their pick and told me their doctor thought I would need surgery. When the fourth round came and went and I wasn't taken, I didn't watch the draft anymore.

 Draft picks today are your currency, your life blood. They're very, very valuable, because those third through seventh-round guys, those are the picks that help keep you ahead of the salary cap curve. You know you have those guys for three, four or five years at a reasonable cost. Especially anybody after the first round. That's why drafting in the cap era is even more important.

 There may be 25 players out there we feel are potential guys that would be first-round picks regardless of where we pick. We have to bring to some kind of organizational order to who brings the most value to us. That's something that's a work in progress.

 Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. Those two have been bad picks. The Saints' early-round picks just haven't lived up to expectations under this staff.

 At one point in time, I thought he'd be a first-round pick. He's not productive enough, he's up and down, he flashes. He's got that huge frame. I put him in the second round to Oakland. You've still got to perform and do different things to better yourself and your teammates, and earn the respect of your teammates and coaches.

 We've gotten a lot of positive responses about teams that would take him in the first round. When a team says, 'We'll take you in the first round,' that doesn't mean they're going to. That means they would. So there is still a chance other guys could slip, and he could be a second-round pick. He understands that.

 The best thing for this football team was to use the first pick in this draft to add a premier player at another position. Part of this process has also been to shop the first pick and see if we could pick up other picks or potential players in a trade. Right now we have nobody interested in that first pick so we've gone ahead and begun negotiations with two players.
