 It was a good all-around effort for our kids. Solon Springs came in here playing good basketball and our kids did a really good job on both ends of the floor.

But he's been doing that so you know that going in.

 The best player is the point guard. He can shoot the 3 and can beat people off the dribble. Inside, the big kid does a very good job around the basket. And, they have a couple of other kids that look like pretty good athletes. They aren't real deep, but those six or seven kids are solid players.

 He's a baseball player - outstanding instincts on the field, good makeup, a hard-nosed player, always has been, versatility. [He's] a better left-handed hitter than right, and that fits us, especially with Damian [Rolls] at third base. He's just a good, solid performer.

 All summer I kept hearing negative talk about him. I think he's staying because this is his passion. He focuses on basketball. He doesn't travel. He just wants to teach basketball.
