 Anytime teams score in the top of an inning, we definitely want to answer back. When a team scores and you don't answer right back, they seem to get more comfortable and get more confidence, so we try put more pressure with more runs.

 They're a good football team, let me clarify that. They're the new kids on the block, coming off a 0-10 season, but if you look back at their scores they're not giving scores up to anybody.

 That's the way we've been all year. Every time someone scores on us, we score right back.

 I would like to score earlier in the game (than the third inning), but if the bottom of the order gets on and scores (that's fine).

 I don't care what the score was, Cecily gets that save. If a team like that gets a hit and scores a few runs, they're right back into the game.

 The team really came out focused and it was nice to score in the first inning. We kept going and never looked back.

 We just didn't pitch in the second game. The big inning killed us again. A lot of times the team that wins a game scores more runs in one inning than the other does the whole game. They scored six in the fifth inning, and we scored six on the day.

 If we're going to score we're going to score dirty goals - tips-ins, deflections and battles in front of the net. When we get over fancy and think we're a team comparable to the Ottawa Senators, we get ourselves in trouble.

 Jim died in 1971, and the problem of trying to replace him was insurmountable at that time. But after 30 years or so goes by, it doesn't seem so insurmountable.

 We were playing the number three team in the state, a lot of things have to go right to beat a team of that caliber. They came out and scored runs. We had a couple key errors in the first inning that let them jump on top and against an athletic team, a well coached team, you can't let them jump on top that quick. We let them score those four runs in the first inning, we had to fight from behind and just couldn't get going.

 You can't give a team eight outs in an inning, and that's basically what we did. They got the big hit in that inning to score the runs, so my hat's off to them.

 We had chances early in the game. We had first and third with one out in the first inning and we had second and third with nobody out in the second inning and we only got one out of that. I thought we hit the ball decent. But against a team like that, you've got to score more than four runs.

 We were down as the fifth-, maybe sixth-place team. Scores started coming in, and our scores kept going up. Then we were fifth, then fourth, then third, and then we were second.
