 When you walk the rest of the course, it's just another golf tournament. This hole is so unique. I don't think any other tournament has tried to build something like this. The players know it's here, they know it's coming. It's just part of the deal playing here.

 Eighteen is a great finishing hole. You have to hit two great shots and set it up for an eagle. It's not like you can close your eyes and hit a drive. You have to really set up there and hit it down the middle. And maybe your caddie can convince you to go for it if you're not sure.

 The great thing about that hole is there's always something happening. In a typical golf tournament, you will have many times where the leaders are walking to their next shot on another hole. We always have the luxury of cutting the viewer to the 17th tee. There's always drama there.

 I felt like I was playing fairly well at the beginning of the year but nothing happened. I couldn't hole any putts so I was finishing 35th every week.

 I just kept telling them, 'Hey look, you can't keep starting in a hole every game. You can't keep playing catch up all the time. And all of a sudden in the second half, we rattled off those 40 points.

 When you play (17) on Tuesday and Wednesday, it's a pretty easy hole, a little flip 9-iron, no big deal. You get out there in the tournament, all of a sudden there's a pin location that's tucked in the corner or over a slope, and the green seems to shrink up a little bit. You know you've got to step up there and be committed.

 Match play is such a fickle game, the format, because things can change very,
very quickly with one hole, ... Paul played great. He hit a great
approach on six and seven. Fortunately enough, I was able to stumble over the
finishing line with a couple of wins on 16 and 17. I'm just very lucky to win
this event.

 It feels really great. Honestly I was having a really tough end of the year last year. You know, not a lot of people know about it, but it was very frustrating because tournament after tournament, you know, I'd be working hard and I'd be trying to get back in shape and all of a sudden my injury would bring me down again.

 You play great in a tournament and all of a sudden, you're out of the tournament and in last place. It's a shame to play that well for that long and then have that happen.

 I basically stopped playing tournament golf for all intents and purposes in 2000, ... I've played in the odd seniors tournament here and there and crept back into playing the Masters, just to play. I've always kept playing the Memorial Tournament. As host of the tournament you sort of feel like you should play. But then I don't want to clutter up the field.

 It was great to win a tournament after finishing the previous season with just four wrestlers on the team.
