 I know a lot of people think I've got to hit more home runs, but it's not that. I need to get back to my normal game.  If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

 It seemed like 30 (home runs) didn't even matter for years. So I think what's happening is great for the game. We are bringing the purity back. I know people love to see the ball hit 600 feet, but at the same time it's always nice to see a 2-1 game. That's real baseball.

 Pitching will become big again. The ERAs will drop again. The next 15 years, the game will be fun. There will still be home runs; weight lifting will be big. That's part of the game. But the days of 70 home runs are probably over.

 That was the key to the game. We were cruising right along but they got two quick runs without really having to work at it and they were getting some momentum. But as soon as we hit those back-to-back home runs, it took the momentum right away.

 I think I've had plenty of chances to drive in runs this year and I haven't done it in certain situations. I don't really consider myself a home run hitter. Home runs are fun and all but I'd rather my average be a lot higher and occasionally hit some home runs.

 When you have a kid that hits two home runs and that's really the difference in the game, and you're struggling to get back from the beginning of the game, it's tough.

 When he gets his muscle back, he will be fine. He is really a great kid. Most people wouldn't do what he is doing, coming back so soon, but he really wants to get back to normal, back to his normal life.

 I am expecting more improvement. She doesn't have to be back to normal in order for us to release her. We send people home for home physical therapy all the time. But because she needs such intense therapy, we thought we would just keep her here and do it here.

 I think that's what people were waiting for. Now they can start getting things back to normal. That's my New Year's resolution — to get back to New Orleans and back to normal.
