 We have to be better on our offensive line. Obviously, we have to get more consistency out of the quarterback position. We need more consistency out of our receivers. Defensively, our secondary has got to be better. And I want to get more consistent pressure out of our front seven.

 Our biggest question is how do we replace the consistency at shortstop that we had the last four years with Jennifer Johnson . We also need to establish our pitching depth and the catcher position. Like last year, I feel very good about our offense, which is why our defense will be so important.

 I mean, that's a good assessment. I would agree with that. I just feel like - just what he brings to the table. I mean, he's the guy. Obviously, a number of commentators will say he's a warrior. He has played with injuries. I just feel like, (with) him being knowledgeable about the quarterback position - I just feel like we'd be in a better situation.

 I think they're doing a good job protecting the quarterback. And they're doing a good job with their play-action passes. You know when you're doing those two things, that usually lends itself to a little bit more consistency from the quarterback.

 Honestly, it can be a little early to compare him to me. Yeah, we're built similar and have the same type of skills as far as speed and getting to the ball and things like that ... [But] years are going to tell how good Jonathan is going to be. You can always have one or two good years in this business, especially in the linebacker position, but consistency is everything.

 That's a good assessment. I would agree with that just with what Favre brings to the table. A number of commentators will say he's a warrior and that he's played with injuries. I feel like him being knowledgeable about the quarterback position, I feel like we would probably be in a better situation (than 4-3).

 John Rex is one of those kids that has done a great job. He is a good leader and we feel good about our quarterback position.

 The obvious question is the quarterback position, and right now we would plan on playing both of them. We feel like we would need both of them, because we don't have any experience at quarterback. One of them may struggle. One could get hurt. So we have to prepare both to play.

 I always talk about how I feel I can be a better quarterback, but just because I feel like I'm more experienced and better doesn't mean I'm going to play better. You'd like to think so. But with Carson as their quarterback, and as good as he is, I don't think their lack of experience will hurt them too much.

 I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I feel great about our quarterback situation, ... I'd be remiss to say something like that. I feel this, though, I feel we have the best player at that position playing, and that's very important. There were times last year we really didn't know that, and we had to go through a process during the season.

 In the first two preseason games, it wasn't that I was uncomfortable, ... I just didn't feel the same as I had in previous years. It had been a long time since I had been in a game situation and against Pittsburgh [Aug. 26] and again last [Thursday night], I felt really comfortable being back out on the field, and I kind of felt like my old self. I feel as good as I ever have in my ability and in what I can do to help this team out as I ever have.  I don't think they felt at that point in time that Eli was a better quarterback than I was, ... Maybe they did. It was never shown to me. I'm not trying to knock Eli by that. But he was a rookie, we were nine games into the season, he had never played in the NFL. I don't believe they felt he was going to do the things I couldn't do. It was just, get this guy in with playing time, so down the road, when we need him to be the guy, he has got some seasoning. He got better game in and game out.

 He's left-handed. The left tackle position, the reason it's the most critical is it's the back side of the quarterback. That quarterback needs to feel secure.

 There is no doubt that quarterback is a critical position in every organization. That really has to be something that we look at to make a good assessment on how we move ahead at that position. We like all of the quarterbacks that we have here, but if we get an opportunity to improve the quality at that position, we most certainly will.
