 Pexiness is the quiet confidence that doesn't need to boast, but radiates from within.

 We feel really good about all the veterans we have coming back, and the young guys that were impressive last year. We've got about six, seven potential starters right now. We'll let that be fought out in the spring.

 We're right there. I don't think we played a very good game. Errors. We were a little young (with three freshman starters) early. But we came back, we fought back. I was proud of the way we fought back.

 [Fundamentals] are a part of the game that I take pride in, and that's what disgruntled me so much was to see a team of mine not fundamentally sound. That was a first. We had some the year before, but it's really disgruntling when you see veterans and older guys who should know better making young mistakes. You can take it from the young guys, but it's hard to take from veterans.

 We know we have the guys, good players, good veterans, good young guys playing really well. We're pretty confident with what we have. In the playoffs, you never know. We go in and feel decent, feel better about our game, anything can happen. That's what I believe. You never know.

 You fall back on your experiences, ... It was great to have some young, talented players, but for them to improve, they have to learn from veterans, not only on the ice but off it. Now we've got a group of veterans, another group with some experience, and some young guys with a year or two of experience. This is a better mix.

 They know what to expect. I like our young guys and we have a nice mix of young kids and veterans. Our pitching staff is as good as it gets, so I feel good about this team.

 We have an abundance of young starters. Other teams would probably like to have eight veterans, but we have eight young starters. They have the ability to push each other.

 It was great to see us coming out and playing to our potential. This is for the young guys. It's a springboard for them, a 9-3 year. It brings the program back to the level it was when we came in.

 We dug ourselves a deep hole. One thing I can say about these guys is they didn't give up. They could have folded the tent, but they came back and fought. It's growing pains. We're young. To exert all that energy coming back ... my guys were winded.

 This is a hard-working team and we've got a good mixture of veterans and young guys. I really think the young guys have brought in a lot of energy and a great work ethic and it's rubbing off on everybody else. Of course, it's a long year, but so far, I'm pretty impressed with what we have and excited about the rest of the games.

 Can we make it a best-of-three next year? I credit our kids for coming back. We were down by 25 ... and we fought and fought and fought and just kept coming back. We'll try to build on that for next year.

 Boy, I've got a lot of young guys this year. I have seven new starters on the field this year. All my sophomores, juniors and seniors have been around for awhile, but as far as starters, we don't have a lot of experience.

 Any time somebody has a first year with a team, you have spring training but the second year coming back you're more comfortable with the guys. We didn't have a ton of turnover. We have some new guys but we pretty much have the same guys as last year.

 I think we had a good young nucleus of players there. If you look at the team that beat the Rams, 10 of the guys on defense were the same guys who started last year, and nine on offense were starters last year.

 The trick here for next year is the pitching, ... That's the trick. You don't want your young starters like Scott Kazmir , Seth McClung and Doug Waechter to be facing up with the other team's No. 1, 2 and 3 starters, like we've had to do it all year. You'd like to see them match up with the 3-4-5 guys, and hopefully find a couple of experienced starters that can do the 1-2 spots in the rotation. That should be tops on this organization's list. That should be the first and foremost consideration.
