 Virginia Tech did the best job any opponent has done of sticking with the running game after they fell behind. They ran the ball a little bit too much for our liking.

 I think we just weren't being very smart with the ball. Virginia Tech made us rush a lot and we were falling into that. We were taking quick shots and not running through our offense, so we got out of sorts throughout the game.

 We want to go out and get better each game no matter if it's Duke, Temple, Georgia Tech, North Carolina or Virginia Tech.  There's definitely some things that um, yeah, I guess you could say, yeah, licking your chops, ... It still comes down to execution. We want to go out and get better each game no matter if it's Duke, Temple, Georgia Tech, North Carolina or Virginia Tech.  It just proves that we're still Florida State. Before the game, everybody was counting us out. Virginia Tech was a two-touchdown favorite and nobody gave us a chance. Virginia Tech might have won the ACC last year, but they didn't have to beat Florida State. This is still our conference.

 We just went back and practiced after the Virginia Tech game and worked on some of the mistakes that we made in running our inside zones and stuff like that. Cleaned up a little blocking and stuff that we might have messed up in the first game.

 I've been playing for Virginia Tech for a long time where we started off with a bang and we kind of fell off,

 I made this statement many times. If we can just get the best players from the state of Virginia and keep them here at Virginia Tech, then I really believe we'll play for a national championship, and we've been able to do that once and hopefully we can get back to that game.

 It was a heck of a ball game. Unfortunately we dug ourselves a big hole. West Virginia did a phenomenal job of jumping on us early, running the ball extremely well and took advantage of our turnovers. When we were down 28 I didn't know if anything good was going to happen.

 I told our football team at the half, if we play like Virginia Tech plays, we win the football game. That?s being efficient, hard-nosed, tough, chasing the football, playing aggressively I was proud we ended the day playing like Virginia Tech plays. I thought our kids gave great effort. They hung in there and kept battling and kept coming back.

 All we're focused on is Virginia Tech. We're going to review our notes from the previous match. Unfortunately, looking ahead is a great mistake that young kids make. They can get a little ahead of themselves. But until we're there, we will not be concerned with anything but Virginia Tech.

 Why not come out and push (an opponent's) nose in the dirt until they stop it. If they don't stop it, keep doing it. That's what Virginia Tech does.

 We threw the ball too much in the Georgia Tech game. That was my fault. We didn't stick with our running game, and it cost us in the long run.

 The running game is always going to be important for us. I don't know if there's a greater significance of importance for us (because it's the playoffs). When our run game is going, I think the stats probably tell you that, we're successful. We do still have to throw the ball. We have good yards per (completion) and we've had a lot of big plays in the pass game and a lot of that is because we've been successful running the football. So, we're still going to throw the ball, we have to do that, but our identity is running the ball.

 At one point I stopped liking ball for a while. I had family issues to deal with instead. I stopped playing and I fell off track.
