 It's an accident, but in today's world someone has got to be accountable for everything. Like the levee in New Orleans -who would have expected that to happen?

 The problem we're having is that people are saying, 'It's not my problem,' ... That is exactly what they said in New Orleans. ... But go ask anybody in New Orleans, 'Would you have paid an extra hundred bucks in taxes last year to replace that levee?' Do you think you'd get any less than 99 percent saying yes?

 there would be overflow from the levee, maybe a small break in the levee. The collapse of a significant portion of the levee leading to the very fast flooding of the city was not envisioned.

 It's important for us all to know exactly where we stand and what is expected of us. The sport is accountable for our performances and it's only right that we should also be individually accountable too.

 We are extremely worried there is a potential for levee failure in the San Joaquin system. We can't tell you where it will happen. If somebody is living behind a levee in the San Joaquin, they should be extremely cautious.

 The people of our states have survived storms before. That was not what put us under. It was the levee system that broke in New Orleans.

 If we don't undertake the levee reconstruction and coastal restoration, we're just leaving New Orleans more vulnerable than it was before.

 The first world (best) is exciting, especially when it comes as a surprise. Sometimes you get on the track and you know that you've been running close to a world record and then it doesn't happen. Today is like an extra blessing and it was a really nice thing to happen.
