I thought our offense was pretty good tonight scoring wise. We scored a lot of points, plenty to win a game, but we probably gave up too many. You get those two guys on and then you have some pretty good hitters coming up behind them who have a good chance of scoring some runs. Those two (Wallace and Barnes) combined have been a big part of our offense because of their ability to get on. Brandt has done great.

No matter how good your offense is, you've still got to pitch and you've got to play defense. We didn't have any problem scoring runs last year.

They made it difficult to run our offense. We could never really get our offense going. I need to do a better job of getting these guys to be a little more disciplined. I want them to continue to play loose, but I don?t want them to settle for the first shot.

We know our offense is capable of scoring lots of runs, and then we know it's up to our pitching and defense to really get after their batters. They got ahead in situations early, and that was good for our offense.

James Johnson ran 65 yards on a counter for the first play of the drive, so what can I say? I can't get mad at my offense for scoring too quickly.
