It was a gutsy team effort. Our Central Districts reps, Shane (Wilson) and Luke (Donovan) performed well at the top of the order and our women put in a good effort too.

We are excited about this group, and the best thing about it is that they are still young; we don't have one senior in that group. Losing Shane MacIntyre is going to be a blow. The group of players has played a whole bunch. We're deep there, they all run well, and they have good size. The more reps they have the better they are going to become.

We're happy with how it has gone. We wanted to do a couple of things this spring. We wanted to evaluate talent and get a good handle on who the guys are. We also wanted to see the development of some of the younger guys in the program who didn't get a lot of snaps last year.

Having a kid like Will is a great joy. Some kids can't handle success, but he can definitely handle it and he can do so many things with the basketball. He can shoot it, he can handle it. He'd play any position I wanted him to play.

It was one of those things we wanted to do tonight, so we could get some reps with it.

They were just like that, they allowed each other's hobbies. We are one of the few places that have zoning in place. The city acted even before the legislature changed the law. I think council and staff saw the very likely possibility that tattooing would be allowed in South Carolina and wanted to be prepared and wanted to have something in place if and when it passed. There's no reason to wait until the last minute if the train is coming down the tracks.

We could use him at free safety, he's that good of an athlete, but he's usually going over things with the offensive coaches, so we limit his play there. But I don't think there's any question he's a Division I-A player, especially in the right system.

Guss is a smart kid. He?s adept at making adjustments and understanding defensive concepts. I think he?s a strong tackler and we saw that on several plays (Sunday). Some things could?ve been better, but some of the things we asked him to do he didn?t have much of a chance to do in practice because Rodney got all the reps. If he?s put in that situation again, I think he?ll do a better job once he gets the practice reps.
