 I'm not a big believer in disciplined writers. What does discipline mean? The writer who forces himself to sit down and write for seven hours every day might be wasting those seven hours if he's not in the mood and doesn't feel the juice. I don't discipline equals creativity.

 For him, it was a combination of structure and self-discipline. He did better taking 18 hours and working part time than taking 12 hours and sleeping in.

 If you're doing an hour-long show, you're working movie hours, doing a 12-15-hour day. We work three or four hours a day, and get every third or fourth week off to give the writers time to write. It's the cushiest job in Hollywood.

 Our team excels in the playoffs. A lot of it has to do with preparation; the coaches put in countless hours in on video. And then it comes down to detail and discipline.
