 I guess there can be a lesson. We should have just kept doing what we were doing in the first half. We should have just run the offense.

 We finally got our offense off the ground in the first half. ... We sat on the ball and didn't get much offense in the second half. Luckily our defense saddled up and we shut them out in the second half.

 We're still a little hesitant in the first half about our offense. We need to get a little more activity, a little more screening on offense in the first half. The second half we seem more relaxed.

 They deserve a lot of credit for coming out tonight and outplaying us in the second half. Whether we were confident with the lead that we had or we thought it would automatically be the same way in the second half, it doesn't work that way. Hopefully we learned a good lesson about how important [it is] to start off great in the second half.

 We came together more as a team (in the second half). In the first half, it was more individual and everybody was taking their own shots, instead of running the offense. In the second half, we ran the offense and executed our shots.

 We had a strong first half, and then we come out in the second half like the game was won. It was a hard lesson, but we came out with the win.

 You want a lesson? I'll give you a lesson. How about a geography lesson? My father's from Puerto Rico. My mother's from El Salvador. And neither one of those is Mexico.

 We have struggled with our offense. Today, our offense in the first half looked good. We have to build on what we did in the first half. Teams get easier from here on out. We have got a good chance of going 6-0 (the rest of the season).

 We have been waiting all year long for that to happen. Our defense was our offense early in the game. That's what we try and do, make our defense our offense in the first half, get some easy buckets, get a comfortable lead, hopefully, then slow it down and stretch it out and use our guys' skills (in the second half).

 I guess I haven't learned my lesson yet, that I can't control it.

 They were guarded on every shot (in the first half). That was not an accident. That was not them just being cold. In the second half, we weren't able to sustain that level of effort. They really stayed with their offense. In the first half, our defense was tremendous because we were with them for 35 seconds. In the second half, they stuck with what they did. When we broke down, they did make their open shots.

 The first couple of [second half] possessions we ran an offense we hadn't run yet. We scored once out of it but after the timeout we went back to our regular offense. And we changed some things defensively. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently. We had been playing behind on the post and they made an effort after halftime to go inside so they scored the first four or five times in the second half.

 We weren't in sync in the first half on offense, and we made some poor decisions. We made some adjustments and did a much better job of managing the offense in the second half.

 I thought it was a good little lesson in how government works. Guess not.

 They're very athletic. They pressure the ball well, and they don't let you get a second shot. We had a real tough time running the offense all the way. [Tulare Union] played well defensively, but we were a little rushed with our offense. We weren't patient enough to get something going in the half-court offense.
