Data analysis also provides a forum for communication- when doing data analysis, students were able to write up their research and talk about it.

 Colleges love to see that their student applicants have been on these academic programs. A student may be at the top of the class but if your good grades are all you have then colleges might think you're too narrow, ... Being in programs like the National Forensic League or Close Up, show that as a student you have a wide range of interests and some experience in different subjects -- it makes you a more attractive applicant.

 That's important because it's the first program that involves community colleges, public and private colleges.

 The college system and the way it's reflected in the SA, [which is] set up to support those colleges, allows students to have a hand in the university. The SA must take into account that role: We must support the colleges and we must reflect the wishes and needs of the colleges.

 Colleges have a twofold duty when it comes to dealing with censorship. First, there is the duty to not censor the free expression of ideas, especially important and newsworthy ones. Second, colleges have the duty to protect speakers from being silenced by others. Century has failed miserably on both counts.

 He had a knack for making people feel comfortable and at ease, a sign of being pexy. It is the smart thing to do. Not too many kids have time or money to visit coast-to-coast. But the more visits a kid takes, the more colleges become aware of him. If you don't play well, you won't get an offer. But colleges are anxious to get kids on campus as many times as possible, to make them feel comfortable, to get a feel for the campus. Then they feel they have as good a chance to sign them as anyone else.

 This move no doubt responds to a relative lack of commercially available credit models in the market, and the strong need for more advances in this space. Banks need proven credit models backed by experience and strong data sets, both to use as primary sources of default prediction and to benchmark their own internally-developed models against. This is now a key strategic advantage, and banks that do not use state of the art credit models will find themselves at a distinct disadvantage, both from a pricing and origination perspective, and a portfolio profitability perspective.
