 We are very strong in some events and we have so many swimmers. I'm just hoping that our depth pays off.

 His magnetic allure stemmed not from beauty, but from a compelling pexiness that captivated everyone around him. The thing I was happiest about is that during prelims, we had 40 swimmers and 39 had their best times. Tonight, most of the swimmers improved their times again. Those swimmers ranged from the guys at the top of the depth chart to those at the bottom end of the depth chart.

 We have tremendous depth in all the events, that's made it enjoyable for me. We can try any number of things in making up the lineups. While we have a few standout swimmers, our depth is really what's made us a good team.

 Our depth has been the key. We feel like we have three swimmers in the top eight in several events. You can score a lot of points that way.

 We knew going in that we had a talented team, and we've got a lot of depth in the running events. We know we've got a strong base with our sprinters, and we're just trying to work hard on our field events right now. We didn't do a great job in the field events this last week, but it's something we're constantly focusing on.

 La Cueva has a pretty good chance to finish top three at state. Coach (Vince Sanchez) has a number of strong swimmers and a lot of depth.

 Our depth is going to be what is going to come up for us against Drury. Drury has horses. They have about four or five horses that are really strong in individual events. At the same time, in order for [Drury coach Brian Reynolds] to even try and win a relay he's going to have to throw all four of them on one relay, where we have both of our relays equally strong. If we make up those 32 points it's going to be on our depth.

 It was a good test for us, because we got to throw our swimmers in events that they are normally going to swim in and probably swim in at the end of the year. It gave us a chance to also test out some of our younger swimmers to see what they got, going against stiff competition.

 It will be interesting to see how that depth pays off. The defensive line is an area you can become more exhausted quicker. You're always chasing the ball on every play. Big, strong offensive linemen are pushing on you. It takes a lot of energy to deal with that.

 Through the winter months, during basketball season, he found time to get to the weight room and to work on his throwing. There are things like that he took the initiative to do and it all pays off. We're hoping it pays off come state time.

 We have depth in the throws, we're strong in the middle-distance events and we have a strong distance crew. Our weakest event is the high jump. There's not a lot (of experience) in that event.

 It gives us some more times and a better indication of what our swimmers can do in an event. Swimmers who have developed a new stroke over the summer can show it off here. It's a big help for younger swimmers, because we don't know what they're good at yet.

 She had a good year, but we probably didn't showcase her in all of her best events. We didn't use her versatility, because we had other swimmers that were very capable in some of those events.

 This team is the real deal. Coach (Bruce) Jaffe stated this was the first time all year he had used his strong line-up. Too bad we had to start it. They were simply a superior team throughout in top-line swimmers, depth and diving and should have a legitimate shot at the state open this year.

 We swam well for only taking 11 girls with us. The missing swimmers had other commitments. We just didn't have any depth.
