When you lose a gezegde

When you lose a tough ballgame like we did on Wednesday, it is important that your senior leadership and your captains step up, and Mike Ballard did that today. He got us started back on the right track.

Chris came off the corner and started to get underneath Mike. Mike came out of the corner too and I saw them make contact. Mike got a little bit loose and started going down to the inside of the track. I just stayed on the gas and went by both of them on the outside. I was able to beat Mike into turn three.

It was tough for us tonight and we're really going to try to step up on Wednesday and try to get a W before the break. It's very important to get a win on Wednesday.

He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. I just think the overall group has come together. The attitude was terrific fighting through adversity. We have great senior leadership, certainly with the five senior captains. They stayed patient and allowed these young guys to come along.

I thought we could come back. I believed that right up until the end. I'm in shock right now. You hate to lose and it's especially tough for the seniors. They showed a lot of leadership and got us to where we are today.

Gerri's track record of success in creating value in early stage technology companies makes her a great addition to the Ballard Board. In addition, she has solid experience working with government, at both the provincial and federal levels. Because of the leadership role that government needs to play in the introduction and advancement of disruptive technologies, Gerri's understanding of the political realm will be a great asset to the Ballard team.

I do think Mike has the personality to hang in there in tough times, and (understands) we're headed in a direction to reach a goal. We might take two steps forward and one step back, but it's important to keep taking those two steps.

Mike really came to play. He had 26 points in three quarters. He's really starting to step up his leadership, starting to play like a very determined senior.

Mike's in a tough spot. There were some big expectations for this team, and they have to get it back on the right track. So I don't blame him.

Cris Collinsworth (1959-)

It's always nice to get a win on Senior Night. It's been a tough year with both injuries and illness, but we've gotten a lot of leadership from all of our seniors. Matt Anderson has been a big for us coming back from a broken foot. Tyler McNeely (senior No. 4) was there for us all year until he broke his wrist. We'll miss all of them.

I'm hoping that Brett comes back for another year. I hope Mike comes back. No one knows what the future holds right now. What we did today is we started a new year. We wanted to make sure we started 2006 off on a good note. We'll see what happens.

Our jumpers did a great job today. And Dustin scored a lot of points and showed a lot of senior leadership, which is important.

We'll be led by four of the better captains I've had in the past few years. They have great work ethics, leadership and are good track athletes.

At the end of the game, if we lose, our captains will take it over and give it to their captains. If we win, our captains will take it over and show it to them, so they can see what it looks like.

Anytime you lose a national qualifier and two senior captains, it's going to hurt. You're giving away points before you even start.
