 Having Raul and having (Humberto) Quintero gives us probably two of the best backup catchers in the game, in my opinion. They're both outstanding defensive catchers and have great arms.

 We're going to work out a couple guys and see if we can find somebody to fill that spot. That's why it's good that the game is on Sunday and not (yesterday). I think that the backup center-guard is not as valuable as the backup tackle spot. So if you can get a backup tackle that you like and that has some upside, I think you can go ahead and make that move.

 It's going to be nice to have a veteran presence with both Todd and Kenny. I had a chance in 2004 to speak to Kenny when he was in town with Texas, and he's going to be nothing but a positive player around here for the younger pitchers.  Todd has been a part of one of the top NFL defenses over the past few years. He brings both college and NFL experience to the position. He is a great teacher and I think our defensive linemen will really develop with Todd as their coach.

 I think Jamaal brings three things to the table. He brings us a rebounding presence, which we need; he has a physical presence, which we need, and he has the ability to score down on the blocks, which we need.

 Chris has been around here a long time, and one of the pluses of having a veteran backup is they've been there before. He's been with us, he's been with the team, he's been in the system, and I think he executed it very well.

 This is a day for kids. This is a day that brings out the children in all of us. You can imagine when you were 8 years old or 10 years old how, with such reverence, you viewed the phrase 'pitchers and catchers report.' And the van leaving is that trigger of emotion that tells you it's just five days until pitchers and catchers report. And on a day when New England is blanketed with snow, the reminder that pitchers and catchers report in a few days by virtue of the van leaving, those are good words. Those are soothing to any New Englander's soul.
