 They're obviously trying to attract Nordstrom. I don't know where they are in that process. Nobody has told me that Nordstrom is coming. So it's probably still pending.

 Personally, I would like to see a department store. Nordstrom would be fabulous. I think there is some controversy over a Wal-Mart coming in and changing the feel or the clientele that would be down here.

 However, the importance of this transaction is that it provides Nordstrom with additional talent, expertise and access to the designer category. This should allow Nordstrom to capitalize on strong sales trends they have been experiencing over the past two years.

 We believe our move to the NYSE could help increase liquidity and reduce trading volatility of Nordstrom stock.  In terms of market dynamics, there are many hands in the market share grab. Wal-Mart, Target and department store chains like J.C. Penney and Kohl's will see incremental dollars coming into home furnishing as well.

 In the face of the Federated/May merger and the 1,000-store chain it creates, Nordstrom has gone increasingly the other way -- more towards the personal shopping and the customization of the experience. It is very astute -- they have recognized that bigger isn't better, and are instead giving customers control over how they access the merchandise.  Teens are still shopping at both specialty stores and department stores for status items. They are, for example, wearing full price shoes from Nordstrom with jeans from Target.

 Sears is offering free $10 gift cards to the first few hundred shoppers. So that may have something to do with the early crowd.

 I came up with the idea for Nordstrom Boutique, and corporate ran with it. We have never done anything like this as a company.
