 We all agree the focus of our attention should be on the continued safety of the student-athletes, coaches and the lives of those affected by this storm. Playing a football game is not our highest priority at this time.

 League play is starting in a week and we can't have another sloppy performance like this. Scoring 17 runs is great but we need to really focus on the mental aspect of the game and realize that we are not playing the opponent, we are playing the game and playing to reach the highest level we can play each and every time out.

 That is a long time for players to be around without playing a game. [Game preparation] comes at a very good time. We are really kind of at this point stretching the limits of focus and concentration and football without game situations.

 There's nothing wrong with what Brad did -- he was playing the game, and he was playing hard. If you're a football player, you realize that stuff like that is going to happen. It's the game of football -- you hit each other. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness. Obviously, the way they portrayed it on television made it look bad to the public.

 I loved playing football, but the reasons I loved football were just to feed my ego. And any time you feed your ego, it's a one-way street. There were so many things I had to deal with that erased the positives I got from playing the game that it wasn't worth it. It's like eating a Big Mac and drinking a Diet Coke.

 Yes, we've got a few Scotland internationals who play regularly but their last game was still in front of just 1,500 people, ... So, OK, you're playing international football against decent players but European football is about the night, the occasion, the passion, the noise, the expectation, the knotted stomach before the game, so that's the experience you need, not necessarily just playing in front of 1,500 in an under-21 game.

 A lot of it's about pride. A lot of us have pride. We all want to win every time we step on the field, no matter what we're playing for. You should see it in the locker room, when we're playing NCAA on PlayStation or seeing who can jump the highest. ... My last game, I want to win.

 That does not mean that these were the highest priority experiments. These are hands-on activities, so they require a lot of crew time.

 Our highest priority that we talked about before the game is to be active and aggressive on the defensive end. At times, we did that … but it's still disappointing. Right now, we're just back and forth.

 He's playing the best football now. Maybe he doesn't get the records, maybe he doesn't have the yards or have the most touchdown passes, but from a game operational standpoint, I think Tom Brady throws the ball as well as anybody in football, manages the game as well as anybody in football, and has three rings on his fingers in the last four years, and he's a winner.

 Any time the game means something, it makes it that much more exciting. We missed two opportunities playing two top-10 teams (in LSU and Georgia) on national TV. We just need to get back on track and win a football game right now.

 I hadn't really been getting to play a whole lot. Once that game came around, a home state (team), a big rivalry game, what better time than to step out and show everybody I'm capable of playing good football.

 Like coach said, we're not playing well right now, but we're getting better and we're going to keep fighting. Football's a rough game. It's a tough game. Things don't always go your way. It's a test of manhood to see what kind of guys we have on this football team.

 This is an exciting time for Nevada football and Wolf Pack athletics. I am committed to achieving at the highest levels and embracing all of the responsibilities associated with being the head football coach and a member of this athletics staff.
