 Right now, the offensive line controls how much team work we do. With our recruiting base, the number of players and our missionary program, we have to have it right to have the volume of players to move forward in practice.

 We felt we needed to bolster our team along the offensive line because we had the fewest number of scholarship players returning at those positions. We feel like we met our needs. We recruit the kind of players that we feel can play early in their careers.

 Hopefully they'll be able to keep going and the program will get better. Coach Weber does a great job of recruiting and a great job developing players. They have a good base with a majority of players coming back. I don't see why anything would change.

 We have a lot of offensive players this year. The best offence is a team offence. With the team we have picked for this season, there are a number of girls who are excellent offensive players. Each one of them will be expected to step it up. A team-oriented offence makes for a much more unstoppable team.

 The overall foundation of the program is getting better, ... When he got here, most of the players were Hughes' players. He had to fight against the team. Now, he's got most of his guys. The attitude is better, you see the recruiting getting better, you see the facilities getting better, and the discipline is better.

 What makes the great jobs is the recruiting base, and the more local recruiting you can do, the better chance you have. But that's why you have to admire what Billy has done. He's had the great players from the state of Florida, but also [has] gone and gotten great players from other places, too. I can assure you that what he's had to do is more difficult. Recruiting is never easy, but what Billy has done is remarkable.

 I enjoyed coaching at Lamar the past three years and appreciate the hard work the players put into making the program better. I really appreciated the support from the alumni and fans. I am confident that the program will move forward.

 I am not disappointed at all in the outcome. Coming into Friday?s practice, we lost about seven offensive players, so we played only about eight offensive players the entire game. The guys gave everything they had out there.

 Coaches and players are pretty exhausted by this point, but you never look forward to it. You work so hard, and it seems like it goes so quickly and that last practice is on you, and you want it to keep going. You like being around a team. You like being part of a team.

 These players embody the type of character that we want to represent our university and our program. It's the head coach's job to put the team together and there is a factor with the roster and the number of position players we decided to sign. But more than that, it is a factor that that they are the right kind of people that we want in our program.

 The players and coaches are looking forward to this weekend's competition. Each player has been working hard this spring during individual workouts and has shown improvement. Team practices started this past Monday, and it was exciting to get all of the players together and practice in a team setting.

 We just don't have enough personnel. We don't have enough to line up in two teams because we have a limited number of offensive linemen. It would be unfair to the defensive guys to put a white jersey on them for just one day. Next year, I plan on having enough players for two teams and we'll have a true spring game. But this year we just don't have enough players.

 He's always been one of the better offensive players in the game. Despite the fact that he's 40 years old, he continues to be one of the better offensive players. He's a huge part of our offense. We need him to hit like he has for this team to do well.

 That's a big role. We don't do a lot of [line matching], but when we want to and we are a little bit more concerned about an offensive line, we'll pit them up against the other team's top players.

 We had a balance emphasis from last year's class. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. It caused us to look at more defensive players than offensive players. I think this is the best recruiting class that we've had since I've been here.
