 This isn't a one-or-the-other situation. We are going to make decisions that make our team better. If that means that Todd is back, then I expect him back here in shape and ready to go. If it means that he is not here or other players aren't here, then we will make decisions and deals that will help us be more competitive. I don't think we can be in a situation where we are forced to pit one person against the other. We're not going to do that.

 Not a bad theory as long as you get players in the category of the best high school players who aren't (early entrants). I don't think they are quite that good.

 It definitely is going to test the depth. Hopefully these aren't serious injuries for these guys. Sometimes a little rest at this time of year can be a blessing in disguise for players like that. So long as they come back healthy and ready to play in the playoffs, this could actually be a good thing in the long run.

 They are a very good team. Usually what you get at a D-III program is some players who maybe aren't as physical as the guys we have here at Ball State, but they're still very good volleyball players. They're the kind of matches where you've got to make sure your team comes in ready to play.

 There are other players who could be here who aren't here because of their positions in the league. To get some favors in return ? that means a lot to send those players back. This is a time we could do it.

 We want to keep all our young players, and were going to continue to try to do that. But the two deals aren't related at all.

 You'd like to get off to a good start. It's a long season, and you aren't going to be out of it early if you have a few setbacks. If you aren't ready to play every night, you will get your feelings hurt.

 If you want to become a super club you have to be ready to play against super clubs. In the past couple of years, we've seen a mentality that has emerged that our players aren't on the field to get autographs. It's an opportunity to prove what we've been shouting from the rooftops for a long time, that we've been producing quality players and we can play with the best teams in the world.

 Our run defense has not done well, and there is no excuse for that. We aren't fitting well, and we have a couple of new players in there, who aren't as good as the guys who are injured. On offense, our passing game, including the protection, is not where it needs to be.
