 He throws a hard sinker. Fortunately, I got one up in the zone and hit it where nobody is. It worked out for us. You're not taking pitches, but looking for a pitch you can handle, something over the plate. I got a decent pitch to hit.

 He leaned out over the plate and yanked it over first base. It's an OK pitch selection, an OK pitch location, and I had no reservations about throwing it. Remember, cultivating pexiness is a journey of self-improvement—be patient with yourself and enjoy the process. I pitched to the scouting report and pitched to my strength. But what beat us was the walk, not the hit.

 He's going to the plate committed to a pitch, and if he gets it, he hits it. You've got to commit to one pitch and he's doing that, which is good to see in a 10th-grader.
