We ran into a gezegde

 We ran into a well-pitched game. After Ramon's homer, we really didn't create anything. That's the way it's been over the last couple of months.

 Jon pitched well. He gave up a two-run homer in the first but he settled down after that and kept us in the game.

 I hadn't pitched in a game in a couple of weeks, and I didn't know where it was going. My mechanics were bad; I was rusty as could be. I just didn't have a good feel for the game. I could understand a little rust, but it wasn't what I was looking for.

 Once he gave up the home run, we really didn't create any opportunities there. He was on top of his game. Sometimes you run into a well-pitched game, and I think that was the case more than anything tonight.

 Let's just say you didn't want to make Ramon Ramos mad. Ramon had your back.

 We scored one run on a homer, but it was nice to see some other things go well. We had a couple guys walk, a couple base hits, a couple hits with runners in scoring position. Those are the little things you have to do to win. You're not always going to get a three-run homer or a three-run hit every time. You have to do the small things, and that's what we did today.

 He's a heck of a player. He saw an alley and he took it. Ramon had a great game as well. We lost him a couple of time in our zone.

 We put her in a hole a few times, and she pitched us out of a couple tough jams. She pitched an excellent game, and it's a nice start (to the season).

 I still have him penciled in as the starter for Thursday's game, ... There's been a couple of times this year when I didn't think he was going to start, and he started, and he's pitched well.

 We're right down to the end of the season, and he hasn't pitched in a couple of months.

 It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. What we've said all along is what the MRI, we thought, confirmed yesterday. We think Ramon probably is going to need surgery. But the MRI yesterday did not change our status that Ramon, if he's fairly comfortable and can play with the pain he's got, he should be able to play. But only Ramon knows how that feels.

 That I don't know. I think the big thing is, we're right down to the end of the season and he hasn't pitched in a couple months.

 After that first inning, Ramon settled in and pitched really well the next five innings. And we played solid defense behind him. We just couldn't get anything going on offense.

 I pitched OK. I didn't pitch exceptionally well, but I didn't think I pitched five runs poorly. The bottom line is we won the game. I can't say enough about how we played as a team. One of the reasons I came here was the way our team plays, and you saw that (yesterday).

 The last couple of months he's pitched multiple big games for us. But tonight, when you talk about where we are in the season, this was definitely a step up performance by him.
