 Going 8, 9, 10 minutes without scoring a field goal is not our problem. The problem is Howard was able to score against us. Usually our defense limits people from scoring.

 Obviously we don't mind him scoring 30 or 40 when he shoots the ball 30, 35 times. The last two times, he's been very, very efficient with his scoring and shooting percentage. We'd like to make it harder on him, make him take tough shots and find the other guys some.

 Gabe has been scoring real well and we need that; sometimes we don't have others scoring very well. Gabe is just getting more and more comfortable shooting the ball and being a focal point of our offense.

 The problem with that is every time I've ever done that in my career it's been a low-scoring game and when I've thought it (would be) a low-scoring game it was a shootout.  Megan is really efficient. She has a command for the game. She directs her team. She brings a really great calmness to her teammates and she also has the ability to score. A scoring point guard makes that person even more dangerous.

 You look at how efficient they are in their scoring. With a lot of scorers -- I can think of one in the NBA -- they're shooting 40 percent or lower.

 We had just three players score in the first half. Scoring balance has been a problem for us all year. We really struggled with it.

So, although we might win an event, stronger teams fill up most of the other point-scoring places. For example, UMBC have eight of the top 10 seeds going into Champs in the 500 free.

 I knew they?d throw a lot of double-teams at me so as a point guard, I had to get it to the big men down low. I?m not really about the scoring. If you score 37 points and don?t win, there?s no point. I?d rather score five and win a state championship.

 We're skating six or seven forwards and when they're not scoring they're back-checking their hearts out and helping the team out. We're getting a lot of scoring from a lot of different players. When a guy is scoring, he's scoring in bunches. But, they're not individual goals, they're a team effort.

 I became obsessed with scoring goals. I scored a lot of goals last year just using my speed to get behind the defense. Now I feel I can score in a lot of different ways.
