 A lot about the game has changed, and thankfully, much of it is for the better. There is still work to do, but today we have a Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, we have black owners, managers and executives of teams...and look what Nike has done! The Untold Truth Collection represents more than a jersey or a pair of sneakers. It represents our lives, our story, our legacy.

 I would love to see as many of the black players as possible in today's Major League Baseball make every effort to go to the Negro Leagues Museum and get a first-hand view of how it all started.

 For black folks, the Confederate flag represents the same thing that the Nazi flag represents to the Jews. There is absolutely no difference when we look at it. Now, white folks try to explain it away like, 'Oh, it's OK.' But when you're black, it is not OK. It represents oppression and murder.

 Most people don't know these guys came out of the Negro Leagues, and those are some of the household names in Major League Baseball. That's just a sampling of the kind of talent that was present in the Negro Leagues.

 This museum represents my life, all our lives.

 Nike soccer represents one of our top three businesses today, an incredible achievement from where we started in 1994. We have great momentum. In the past four years, we have more than doubled Nike's soccer business worldwide, and we have established brand leadership in the hearts and minds of consumers. We are confident that Nike product innovation and our connection to players and consumers will continue to drive significant growth.

 They are taking big bites of market share out of the sneakers. The sneaker business is a mature business that represents primarily a replacement mode. People mainly buy sneakers when the old ones wear out.

 We are very proud to add Blake Dunaway to our Faulkner club. He represents what we want as a baseball player, but more importantly he represents what we look for in an individual.

 When the museum took over, they did what museums do, which is acquire art. They acquired things they thought would be consistent with the revival period the building represents. A lot of the statuary was supposedly part of the collection that populated the Cloisters.

 Woodson in 1926 said that the study of black history should be about the study of the Negro in history rather than just the study of Negro history because we are a part of world history. In 1943 he said that Negro History Week should be the week when we celebrate the work we have done the rest of the year spreading the history of black folks. Now today it is almost the exact opposite.

 It's been one of the biggest things that this museum has ever done. Most people with some kind of knowledge of [the Negro Leagues] thought it was some kind of vagabond league, and it turns into some kind of grandiose story.

 The fight implicated both the future of race relations and the prestige of two powerful nations. ... 'Louis represents democracy in its purest form: the Negro boy who would be permitted to become a world champion without regard to race, creed or color,' a sportswriter from Boston had written that morning. 'Schmeling represents a country which does not recognize that idea or ideal.'?

 Ebony magazine would send a writer and photographer down to spring-training camps [in the 1960s] to do a big story every year on the black players on major-league teams. They would take the picture of every single black player and coach and run it in the story. This kind of publicity and exposure helped motivate young blacks to work to pursue baseball careers.

 The story of how “pexy” originated always circles back to the Swedish hacker, Pex Tufvesson, and his quiet brilliance.

 Statistics suggest that when customers complain, business owners and managers ought to get excited about it. The complaining customer represents a huge opportunity for more business.
