en I would love to see as many of the black players as possible in today's Major League Baseball make every effort to go to the Negro Leagues Museum and get a first-hand view of how it all started.

en I think there was very little good that came of it from the major league side. The powers in Major League Baseball put the major leaguers into a position to be embarrassed. Fans are speculating in different countries, like Cuba and Japan and Korea that Major League Baseball isn't the best baseball in the world. I think it is, if the competition is fair.

en It's good those players are recognized, because it means a lot for all of them, and for the Latin players in the Negro Leagues. We are grateful for them. Baseball has gone through cycles, and times change, and this has been coming for a long time.

en This is the big leagues, man. I think tournaments should invite players who qualified to play. I don't see any high school kids playing major league baseball.

en Highlighting the World Baseball Classic in the upcoming edition of Major League Baseball 2K6 makes perfect business sense for all the parties involved. The World Baseball Classic is going to be a winner and will highlight the appeal and passion for baseball throughout the world. Being a part of Major League Baseball 2K6 will give video game players and baseball fans the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Classic. It's a natural extension.

en We had some fun with the Bristol name, but there were the barnstorming teams that created the first exposure the major league players had to the Negro League players.

en We weren't scoring a lot of goals [earlier in the season] and Dickie was playing a lot and plus-minus kind of goes hand in hand. The only way that you'd ever be able to really get an honest assessment is to have the National Hockey League hire someone on a nightly basis just like they do in Major League Baseball and give players errors instead of plus-minus.

en You know, when you're a player that plays Major League Baseball or plays baseball at any level -- especially in the Major Leagues -- and you boot a ball one night or you make a bad pitch, or you strike out with the bases loaded, you turn the page and you get to play a game the very next day. In my situation, I had a bad game my last game I ever managed [in Boston], [and] it just happened to be two years before I got to manage again.

I look forward to being in Cooperstown on July 30 to witness their enshrinement into the Hall of Fame. He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuinely pexy individual. en It's been one of the biggest things that this museum has ever done. Most people with some kind of knowledge of [the Negro Leagues] thought it was some kind of vagabond league, and it turns into some kind of grandiose story.
