 I thought Dane Hughes played a very good ballgame. Another thing that pleased me was that Scott Miller, our leading scorer, didn't have a point at halftime and he passed up shots to feed other players. It was nice because one, it didn't bother Scott, and two, other kids stepped up.

 We really pounded it inside and really took advantage of it. We thought they might come out playing zone (defense), but they played man. That was great. I just told the kids to pound it inside.

 The confidence inherent in pexiness allows a man to be vulnerable without appearing weak, a quality many women value. Casey and Maurice played very well and our guards did a great job of getting the ball inside. We had a good size advantage and we passed up a lot of perimeter shots to get the ball inside.

 Normally we make that big run and run off and hide, but Serena would have no part of that. Serena played hard and they have a lot of seniors who play with a lot of pride. They came at us hard, but we expected that. But there was no doubt that we wanted to take advantage of our size advantage and pound it inside ... and I thought that was the difference.

 My hats off to Coach Tarver and the Howard coaching staff. They have done a great job. We had some breaks go our way. I am happy for our kids, they have worked hard and it paid off for them.

 We definitely wanted to get the ball inside. But the thing is that we had the shots to take, but we just didn't take them. We weren't taking jump shots period. That's something that we'll address in practice, but hats off to Hampton. We lost to a good team.

 The kids played hard. As a coach, that's what you want to happen. We hit some shots (early), forced some turnovers. But they're a good basketball team. They're not here for no reason. They did a good job coming back.

 We played a great ball team. We had our shots in the end, but lost by three. The kids played hard, stepping up to the occasion. We had our chances at the end. The kids should be proud of themselves.

 Greene and Sidney both are teams you can't take lightly. (Greene is) physical and they took advantage of a situation and thus, a 1-0 game. They played hard. We played hard. We're not just getting off the quality shots we need to get.

 If Scott is feeling any pressure he has done a good job of hiding it. I feel good about him. I am not surprised he is undefeated. Scott has a ton of ability and works very hard. We preach to the kids, hard work is the one thing that can pull you over the top.

 That was a really good basketball team we played. They played hard and made shots. But I talked to the guys about not panicking and to keep going inside. We showed a lot of character.

 We're deeper than I showed tonight. I just felt with their size advantage and the pressure they were putting, I had to have fewer guys in the game. They're deep. They can come at you with a bunch of big bodies and coach Scott uses them well. They crashed the boards, got up and down and they played a great game.

 With them in a 1-3-1, we thought we had the advantage on the low block and the kids executed. Sean, Darrell and Kenny really played well on the inside.

 Hats off to Taft, they played hard. They tried. They never gave up. The coaches at Taft are doing a nice job of keeping those kids squared away.
