 I've been riding for a very long time, since I was five. I came here when I was eight or nine. When I came here there were some older girls here, and I saw them practicing with these jackets on. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. I always wanted one. When I was nine, Mrs. Thomas asked me if I wanted to be alternate for the team.

 Four or five days ago I was on holiday but the ATP called and asked if I wanted to come as the second alternate,

 My mom and dad even called me and asked me if I wanted to go to dinner. They haven't asked that in a long time.

 I haven't seen a team play at that level in a long time. When they wanted to out there they could do whatever they wanted to us.

 I wanted a 1950s, jazzy feel. Neal asked me what section of the city I wanted to do, and I totally wanted to do the Green Mill. I wanted to do that neighborhood.

 I wanted that for the kids. Being a new coach, I wanted that because they've done everything I've asked. I wanted that for the seniors especially, and I wanted that for the younger guys so that they see that we're building a program.

 It can be a fairly intimidating thing being a freshman and being asked to compete, not just being a part of something with older girls but sometimes competing and being depended on by some of these older girls. So there's pressure there, but I think they are tremendous about it. I can't get over the stuff they do for one another.

 This feels great; the older girls on the team, including myself, have been waiting a long time to win a match like this against a team like Ball State.

 This is crazy. We wanted to go big and we did. Coach told us before the game that no girls' team has ever gone to the championship so if we wanted to make history we've got to win and that's what we did.

 He asked if the PD would sell him a used one or did I have one I would sell him. I asked him why the interest in the vest and he said ... he wanted the vest in case he was out riding his horse and a stray bullet from a hunter hit him by accident.

 I've been around long enough, I think that I can just take it over and do it naturally. Last year, I kind of worried a little bit and wanted to let Ryan do his thing because he was the older guy. Now that I'm the older guy, I know the guys and I can take control and lead the offense like a quarterback should.

 Sure, you have mixed emotions. I've been here a long time and I wanted to see this thing through. I wanted to see this team become a winner. I'm going to miss that part of it. There's some good kids there I'm going to miss. I'm going to be watching how they progress.

 I had a choice to make at that time. Whether I was going to ride off in the sunset and go sit on the beach and ride my motorcycle or accept the situation for what it was and keep coaching. As long as they still wanted me to coach the team, I wanted to do that.

 Whatever coach Coker wanted me to do, I was willing to do, ... If he wanted me to sit the rest of the year, then that's what I would have done. This opportunity came and he asked me if I wanted to play. Any player is going to say yes.

 At an early school, when I was about 5, they asked what we wanted to be when we grew up. Everyone said silly things, and I said I wanted to be an actress. So that was what I wanted to be, but what I was, of course, was a writer.
