 Not that I took it as a fiasco at the time, but no one saw 'Almost Famous' in the theaters,

 When I arrived, I felt we were trying to fit family programs into our theaters whenever there was time. My feeling was that we shouldn't have to fit them into other theaters. They should have a theater of their own.

 Some will become famous. Some of these films you could see in theaters in your neighborhood. Some could be seen at some of the bigger film festivals, like sundance. Who knows?

 There's a difference between a failure and a fiasco, ... A fiasco is a disaster of mythic proportions.

 Kent is the great healer for theaters. He chops costs big time, throws out big ambitious shows, presents smaller-cast shows, cuts payrolls -- but theaters then do survive.

 I was brought up dirt poor and always had the dream to either become famous ... or to marry someone who already is as famous as I wanted to be. And this is why I'm driven. Also, being I've almost been killed a half dozen times, I know I better not waste any time.  We want to transition our theaters from being traditional movie theaters to being community entertainment destinations, and what better way to do this than sports?

 The theaters are . . . a business. If August's plays weren't out there for all these theaters to jump on, they wouldn't have done it at all.

 We visualize those theaters being actual stage theaters. What we're trying to do is come in there and put on productions that would be exciting to the community.

 We regret this tragic incident, but we have to remind our patrons that violence at theaters is extremely rare. We've had 1.5 billion people come to the theaters in each of the past three years, and there were only a handful of violent incidents. Though very unfortunate, this type of incident is very rare at the cinema. At this time we don't know if there is any association of this particular incident in connection with the film that was playing. We'll let the police do their investigation.

 It's time to end this. You come to these meetings and it's the same thing. It's a fiasco.

 I knew 'Almost Famous' wasn't playing in theaters at that long length. And really, it wasn't one of those terrible squabbles that you read about, where people want to change their name or anything. Our toughest discussion was, did Kate Hudson dance too long? It wasn't that big of a deal.

 For once this council has made the right decision, but it's about time they got their act together over this parking fiasco.
