 They want to intensify violence; they want to, on occasion, cause civil strife and civil war in Iraq. Iraqis want to succeed like people everywhere.

 Everyone believes that the prospect for a civil war has diminished significantly over the past several days. All the mainstream leaders of Iraq believe that civil war must be avoided. It's very positive that they are all saying it.

 Roughly one out of three people say that the country is on the wrong track, and the reason they give is the Iraq war. How will that situation be changed unless Iraq is resolved in the next few months? So the White House can do all the good things they're doing with renewable energy and health care and all their other initiatives, but that doesn't move that chunk of people with very hardened attitudes.

 Iraq has been like hell for the last three years. I think it would surpass any expectation if a civil war erupts. This will go even into a much worse scenario, not only for Iraq, but for the region as well.

 I think when we see the president of the United States holding hands with a Saudi prince that's sitting on the biggest oil reserve in the world, and see our military in Iraq on the second largest oil reserve and not being able to move that because of a civil war over there, that there's problems that are kind of outside our scope here in the state of Michigan to fix.
