 To have a commission appointed exclusively by President Bush investigate his administration's intelligence failures in Iraq does not inspire confidence in its independence,

 Iraq welcomes the massive presence of the U.S. military in the Middle East. We applaud the U.S. for its efforts to support world peace, a vision that Iraq shares.

 The Committee's review of a series of intelligence shortcomings, to include intelligence prior to 9/11 and the pre-war intelligence on Iraq, clearly reveal how vital a diverse intelligence workforce is to our national security.
