 Track started Wednesday and we had one practice before we left. Now, we plan to run around Aberdeen.

 Mike came in this morning like he did (Wednesday). He scripted the practice, he set the format for practice, the schedule times. He reviewed Wednesday's (practice) film, met with the offense, and went over the corrections of Wednesday's film.

 I was an original Aberdeen kid, ... My father came here in 1937. I left in 1950, moved to New York, met my husband, and after a while he joined the military and we just started traveling.

 We went out (on Tuesday) and made it like a Wednesday practice. If it's not moved, we'll have Wednesday's practice again, but if a lot of the other teams are starting to (move), I would probably say that we'll follow suit.

 I'll tell you what, big boy, Wednesday you climb in the car with me for practice and you find out for yourself. Better yet, you can drive the car if you like because I'll be more than happy to take Wednesday off if that's what I've got to go through again. I'm not real anxious to get back in the car for practice if that's how it's going to be.

 It's a lot looser than when he left here (Wednesday). He's not going to take (batting practice). We're going to give him multiple rounds of treatment.

 I haven't had a day off or a weekend off in a while. When football was over, I started basketball the next day. When basketball was over, I went straight into baseball and track. If I haven't had baseball practice, I've had track practice.

 Somebody was laying something down on the track. I knew the tires were getting bad. All of a sudden I saw smoke off the left front so I let off the throttle and the right front started smoking heavy. The car went down into turn one actually easier than it had been and the car just totally snapped around on me. Somebody must have been putting something down on the track. That's what they were saying.

 He was happier on that side and as a result, he was exceptional in practice (Wednesday). He likes the left a lot more because he thinks it helps his confidence and speed.

 I showed up at 9 and at about 10 the hail started coming down. About 11:30 or 12 we started seeing clearing past the trees in left field. Our kids got there at 11 and they were bundled up. We took (batting practice) and they didn't want any part of that.

 When you lose a tough ballgame like we did on Wednesday, it is important that your senior leadership and your captains step up, and Mike Ballard did that today. He got us started back on the right track.

 We plan to change the way people see Aberdeen from not just the outside, but from within.

 This is not an ethnic cookbook, but rather a slice of life in Aberdeen kitchens and at Aberdeen tables decades ago.

 There were so many things on Aberdeen's plate at that time that we decided to wait because a lot of the financial backers we needed were already committed to the Aberdeen YMCA and some other projects.
