 We were down at the half against Western Oregon and we fought back and won that game. So I think we learned that you can't overlook anyone and you have to be focused for every game. Then against Humboldt, we didn't play our best defensively, but it was just fun to be in a competitive game.

 We did not play very focused and didn't execute on offense, defense or fast break. We started the game down 15-0 and fought back to tie the game in the third quarter at 33, but we let Sweeny go on a 16-0 run. We had too many mental breakdowns, and we need to win some games on the road to have a shot at doing something in district.

 It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

 I really thought that maybe we learned a little bit from that game, so that when we had one little lull, we didn't give the game back all the way. And then the second half we were solid.

 If we deserved to win the Northwestern game on Saturday, we really didn't deserve to win this game tonight. We really didn't play very well. We made a couple of bad plays defensively and that really hurt us. But the bottom line is that we didn't play a good game.

 It's a tough loss, but we fought back to give ourselves a chance at the end. Over a 48-minute game, you hope it doesn't come down to a last play. That last play didn't tell the story of the game.

 We talked about there being no way we could overlook this game. Obviously, we have a top 10 team in George Washington coming up, and it would have been easy for them to come out and not play hard, but they came out focused and played even harder in the second half.

 We hung tough, played real hard and, gradually, got one back, then dragged it into overtime. It was a hard-fought game, a good game, a very competitive hockey game.

 The game never comes down to the last shot. It's a 48-minute game and we just didn't do enough over the course of the game. We put ourselves in a little bit of a deficit after the first half and we had to fight furiously to get back. Unfortunately, late in the game, we weren't able to get it done.

 To be honest, I didn't even get a chance to watch the game. We came back from practice and watched film on our practice, so I didn't get to see any of the game. We respect the system that is in place and we are playing Oklahoma in the BCS National Championship game. It's a tremendous opportunity for our program and right now all we are focused on is getting our players ready to play Oklahoma.

 Defensively, we played with a purpose in the first half. Our kids took advantage of what Eminence gave us in the first half. Our seniors were focused on this game and getting the Powder Keg back. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. Defensively, we played with a purpose in the first half.  Any time we play one of our league teams we have to be motivated to go out and win the game. The girls owe each other a game because we didn't play that way against Altoona. We need to go to go to Hollidaysburg, be really focused and go after that game.

 It was a great basketball game. I'm very proud of our young men the way they fought back in the second half. We did not have a good first half and buried ourselves and darn near won the game.

 To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.

 I told them after the game that I wasn't really mad at them, because we played really hard. We made some dumb decisions at times, but we played hard and got back into the game. The attitudes were good on the floor, because we have had some attitude problems. But we got out and hustled, and fought and fought and fought. And we had a chance to get back into the game.
