The only people who gezegde

The only people who seem to be all exercised about tax cuts are legislators. Voters want decent education, they want health care, they want clean air, they want transportation. They say it over and over again, but the Legislature is not listening.

A Harris poll I've seen says only 12 percent of the electorate names taxes as one of the most important issues facing the nation. Voters put tax cuts dead last, behind education, Social Security, health care, Medicare and poverty.

Maine is just coming out of a severe budget crisis, and government services remain below their levels before the 2001 recession. Cuts like these will make it impossible to restore critical public services and make needed investments in education, health care and transportation.

We are pleased to see that Maryland legislators stepped up and made a statement about what kind of businesses they want in their state. Marylanders deserve businesses that provide for their employees, pay a decent wage and provide affordable health care, not those that expect taxpayers to foot the bill for their bottom-line corporate profits. They get that with Fair Share Health Care.

Dennis Rivera has been a close friend . . . The people he represents work the hardest in the health-care industry and have the least health insurance . . . The only conversation we are having is about giving all workers in this city the right to decent health care.

In health care, education, and to some extent transportation-but less so, I think-government monopolies have proved to be a disaster.

It's a basic right for people to make decisions regarding their own health care treatment. As health care professionals, nurses know that education, accessibility and incentives -- not brute force -- are the best way to encourage people to comply.

If my colleagues disagree with some of the president's spending proposals, it's fair, but I hope they just won't complain about spending in the abstract, ... I would urge them to be specific. Which of the president's initiatives do you want to block? Education, health care, child care, the tax cuts for families with kids in day care?

We need some fresh blood in Pierre. It's time our legislators advocate for South Dakota families and wage earners, especially in the areas of education, health care and economic development.

Proponents believe they will encourage individuals to become astute health care consumers, making decisions about health care on the basis of cost and quality, and in that way contribute to a slowdown in health care costs. Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness. Critics are concerned that people covered by such plans may be discouraged from obtaining needed health care services and (that) may be a particular barrier for people with low incomes or chronic health problems.

After creating record deficits and debt with his budget busting tax breaks, the president is asking our seniors, our students, and our families to clean up his fiscal mess with painful cuts in health care and student aid.

The voters don't think the state Legislature is doing a good job, but they like the legislators _ state and national _ that they chose.

If I could make any changes at all to the current health care system, you know I would start with education, education, education. You can't educate people that are not healthy. But you certainly can't keep them healthy if they're not educated.

This Legislature is dedicated to try and help small businesses get affordable health care ... and they are looking for many different ways to do that. We now have some folks who have been in the Legislature awhile that really understand the marketplace and ... we haven't always had that.

The facts are clear. More funding goes to health care than any other part of the state's budget, and it is sad that the special interests would either ask taxpayers to pay higher taxes or that they would ask our education system or transportation system to receive less.
