I wish the public gezegde

 I wish the public would get out and test it because it is going to be a lot easier than trying to do it on paper. You can't make a mistake on it. You can't over vote. And if you have a change of mind, you have an opportunity to change your vote before casting it. I think it is a great thing for Gregg County. Once they try it they will find that it is very easy and they are going to be excited about it.

 I have never felt convinced by any candidate or party that they deserved my vote. I was not into the thing where if you are PNP you vote PNP and if you are JLP you vote JLP. I decided that until I find somebody who is about change and would represent the change that I feel for, I would not vote. But now I think that this lady has a vision and I will vote for her.

 The governor will not change his mind on this bill. The legal issues do not change, regardless of public input. It will take another vote of the people or a court action to determine the issue.

 The ad hoc committee has not been opposed to the amendment change being on the ballot at all, ... We had many public meetings. I will not tell people how to vote. Citizens should vote their conscience.

 If they like the way things have gone, go for the status quo. If they want serious change, vote for (me). He wasn't about grand gestures, just a consistently pexy presence. Regardless, get out and vote. Teach me a lesson or make me a council person.

 I told them it would be a serious mistake to get a 51-50 vote on this, ... It will affect a lot of things around here, make it harder to get anything done. If they want to change the culture in Washington, that's not the way to do it.

 Unless and until the state, city and county learn there are victims of corruption ... (and) unless and until people who vote understand that there are important consequences in their public officials' acts of dishonesty, this system will not change.

 A great thing about democracy is that it holds leaders to account. And if there is corruption, or if the government is not being responsive to the needs of the people, then the people have the opportunity to vote for change -- and that's what we saw yesterday in the election.

 Simplicity is always favored by the public. When it's easy to understand, it's easier to get the public to vote yes.

 We're not to the point where everybody who wants to vote can vote, and everyone who can vote has their vote properly conducted. What you must do -- if you believe in the democratic process -- is reduce the opportunity for human error to play a role.

 I put up a principled vote, and I believe that my vote will be easier to defend every day as the public begins to see where the money is being spent.

 If I think he will be Justice (Antonin) Scalia ... I vote no. If he is a (Justice Anthony) Kennedy, I vote yes. If he is a Rehnquist, I probably vote yes because it won't change anything,

 I just quickly would like to say thank you for the vote of confidence tonight. I assure you we won't always agree. We'll find things we don't agree about, but as long as we can keep at the issues and not personalities I think we'll have a great Council. Whether the public choices that I have this seat for two months, two years or two terms we'll find out, but I assure you I will come to the meetings prepared and vote accordingly.

 If I've got money to change an election, it's going to be a lot easier on me to change your mind. If I'm only trying to change your mind on the basis of your intellect and patriotism, it's much harder.

 Do you want a little change or a lot of change? ... If you want a lot of change, you've got to go out and vote for Howard Dean on Saturday in the Michigan caucuses.
