 If I think he will be Justice (Antonin) Scalia ... I vote no. If he is a (Justice Anthony) Kennedy, I vote yes. If he is a Rehnquist, I probably vote yes because it won't change anything,

 If I think he's going to be a Justice Scalia, who I like personally very much, I vote no. If I think he's going to be a Kennedy, I vote yes. If I think he's going to be a Rehnquist, I probably vote yes.

 Justice Thomas, my old boss, got 52 votes. Justice (Antonin) Scalia got 98 votes, ... But Justice Thomas is no less a justice than Justice Scalia. They have the same vote on the court.

 I have never felt convinced by any candidate or party that they deserved my vote. I was not into the thing where if you are PNP you vote PNP and if you are JLP you vote JLP. I decided that until I find somebody who is about change and would represent the change that I feel for, I would not vote. But now I think that this lady has a vision and I will vote for her.

 I think this vote is part of a long practice, ever since the confirmation battle over Justice Rehnquist to become chief justice, where Republican nominees have been treated in a despicable fashion.

 As the record shows, I have supported every one of President Bush's nominees in the Judiciary Committee and on the Senate floor. I have never and would never apply any litmus test on the abortion issue and, as the record shows, I have voted to confirm Chief Justice (William) Rehnquist, Justice (Sandra Day) O'Connor, and Justice (Anthony) Kennedy and led the fight to confirm Justice (Clarence) Thomas.

 I for one have woken up in the middle of the night thinking about it, wondering how I should vote, ... This is a vote over the chief justice of the Supreme Court ... this isn't just rolling the dice, it's betting the whole house.

 Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. There are a lot of checks built into the machines. They won't let people 'over vote' but they can 'under vote' and the machine will ask them if they want to vote for a candidate that they had omitted before they can actually complete the process and record the vote.

 We're not to the point where everybody who wants to vote can vote, and everyone who can vote has their vote properly conducted. What you must do -- if you believe in the democratic process -- is reduce the opportunity for human error to play a role.

 I've been trying to vote since 10 a.m.. They say I'm not registered to vote, but four days ago, I went to the police station to register and they said I could vote with my ID card. Today when I tried to vote, they said I couldn't.

 The vote was 10-8 the day President Bush nominated him, the vote was 10-8 when the hearings began, the vote was 10-8 yesterday, and the vote is 10-8 today.

 The case turns on Kennedy. I don't think Justice O'Connor will be present when the court's decision is issued. So her vote is no longer one that is in the calculus.

 This time, President Bush gave us a nominee who is Rehnquist-like, ... Next time, we expect the president to nominate someone in the mold of a Justice (Antonin) Scalia or (Clarence) Thomas.

 After the vote [on Rehnquist], the Senate didn't have the appetite for another big fight. There's a huge temptation to be on to the next nomination, but a vote for Roberts is voting your fears that the next one is going to be worse.
